The treatments of this metabolic disorder are the insulin analogs of rapid and intermediate action. The exhaustive review of scientific articles and bibliographic information allows us to know and identify the complications of the mentioned problem, giving the theoretical description of the disease. The epidemic has grown in parallel with the worldwide rise and most frequent in low and middle income countries among people aged between 20 and 79 years of age. The deficit of total or partial knowledge, bad eating habits and sedentary lifestyle in a diabetic patient are risk factors to be able to acquire various complications such as diabetic foot. It is fundamental as a professional to apply the process of nursing care, following different stages or processes, which originate the development of care plans to establish nursing interventions in a patient suffering from this disease, where education plays an important role.
