Summary:The problems caused by acoustic contamination in the world are increasing, as the problem advances the lack of new tools that allow to control these problems becomes evident, the use of specialized tools allows the focus on the most serious problems and this way providing effective solutions. An impact noise generator is one of the tools that allows the identification of problems associated with noise, is mainly used it to evaluate the isolation in partitions such as ground-ceiling. During the development of this work the ISO 140-7 norm would be analyzed, this is an international norm that focuses in the sound insulation in buildings and the elements of construction. This norm will provide many characteristics that the impact noise generator must fulfill so that the measurements made using this tool would be of remarkable precision. On the specifications written on the ISO 140-7 norm a design of an impact noise generator will be provided that fulfills the mentioned requirements. At the end an analysis will be made of the advantages and disadvantages that the design proposed in order to identify how feasible is its implementation.
