Sumario: | Mountain Rivers are sources for water and sediments and move it into valleys. The steep terrains and streams are often covered with gravel and vegetated sparsely. These bed materials are mobilized and transported under different conditions. If this process happens in the riverbed, it is called bed load transport. The active layer and sub-surface layer form together a mixed layer, where only the active layer interacts directly with the flow, and also an interchange process occurs with the two layers mentioned before. |
